The N P K in Plant Nutrition:
It is inportant that plants maintain a balance of nutrients in the ground around the root area of the plant. This helps the plant produse more flowers and fruite, promotes new growth and helps the immune system to fight diease.
- N = Nitrogen; This help promotes leaf and Stem growth, this is key in Evergreen, Broadleaf Shrubs, Grasses and indoor foliage plants.
- P = Phosphorous; This helps promote flowers and fuit production.
- K = Potassium; This helps the plants immune system.
Fertilzer labels display important information (Example 26-6-8) The three numbers imdicate teh strength by percent of each nutrient. In this case 26% Nitrogen, 6% Phosphorous and 8% Potassium
